• Brownie’s has been providing recreational surface supplied diving solutions since 1969. Simply put, no one has more experience in this area than we do. With the relationships established around the globe for last three decades, you’re never out of Brownie’s territory.

• The marine environment can be very harsh and protecting your system from it requires more than a topical application of paint. Brownie’s has designed its systems with this in mind, not simply attempted to modify technologies from other industries with a bit of paint. Our aluminum parts are “hard coat” anodized for just this reason. The hard coat process actually penetrates the aluminum piston rod, compressor housing, valve plate and compressor heads to provide a superior barrier against damage from water intrusion. Aside from being substantially more durable, hard coating does not trap heat as a topical treatment of acrylic paint does. In addition to this, all fasteners are made from corrosion resistant stainless steel as just with normal wear-and-tear, painted ferrous metals will eventually corrode.

• We designed our units to be easily transportable, and weight played a significant role in the development of our travel cover and pan. After careful study, we selected HIGH-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (HDPE) with specially shaped channeling and ribs to provide exceptional strength. This specific design allowed us to increase strength while reducing materials, resulting in a lighter unit. The lower unit, or pan, provides a very low center of gravity, making the unit more stable in the water and less likely to flip. We replaced the traditional rubber tire inner tube with a high-strength tube system which weighs approximately 50% less and does not dry-rot. This change also allowed us to deviate from the standard round shape to create a more boat friendly oblong shape and utilize an inflatable boat valve for rapid inflation/deflation. find out more about the HDPE travel cover...

• The patented one-size-fits-all Drop Weight Cummerbelt™ allows any diver to utilize any belt (waist sizes 24in - 54 in). Removable drop weight pockets hold up to 10 lbs in each side and allow for extremely easy handling both in and out of the water. • Although the Thai-made Honda motors are still available on our units at customer’s request, we predominately use the Japanese-made Subaru-Fuji Heavy Industries motor. We have found this unit to offer lower vibration, lower noise and longer life than the Honda.

• To really make diving easy, Brownie’s now includes on-line training certificates with all recreational diving systems. Each system comes with access codes for each diver it supports at no additional cost to the consumer. The certificates are redeemable for 18 months and allow the user to progress at their own pace through the course materials.
