Explore the Sea LiON

More time in the water. Less fuss on deck.

Charge it, launch it and dive

Sea LiON replaces gasoline, pull-starting and exhaust with rechargeable battery power. Its floating design keeps the compressor and breathing-air system at the surface while your crew explores below.

Rechargeable power

Start the system with the push of a button—no fuel can or pull cord required.

Variable-speed performance

The compressor responds to air demand and shuts off at its pressure setting to conserve energy.

Easy battery swaps

Add a spare battery and exchange packs between dives to keep the day moving.

Made for dive buddies

Bring two, three or even four divers along, depending on depth and breathing demand.

Air on demand, pressure in reserve

Why Sea LiON uses an accumulator tank

Sea LiON’s variable-speed compressor can turn off when the system reaches its pressure setting, helping conserve battery energy. The accumulator tank acts as an air buffer: divers breathe from the stored volume while the compressor responds and fills the tank back up.

Sea LiON

Battery-powered compressor cycles with demand. The accumulator smooths the transition and maintains a reserve volume between compressor cycles.

Gas systems

The direct-drive compressor runs continuously whenever the engine is running, so it supplies air continuously and does not need the same cycling buffer.

About cummerbelts

Brownie’s Drop Weight Cummerbelts are currently out of stock and cannot be added at this time. Every diver kit comes with a basic tow belt, making the system complete and ready to use.

Current production models may not include a depth-selector switch.

A smarter lift from storage to water

Split the weight before you carry it

The Sea LiON is approximately 53 lb assembled in its pan with a battery installed, depending on battery and configuration. The battery removes from the system, allowing you to carry the battery and floating unit separately instead of lifting everything at once.

A gas-powered floating system’s engine and compressor remain together as one lifting assembly. Sea LiON’s removable power pack makes loading, unloading and battery changes easier to manage.

Approximate operating weight is different from packaged shipping weight and varies with configuration.

Preparation matters

Train, Plan and Be Ready

Breathing underwater involves inherent risk. Proper instruction, maintenance, dive planning and emergency preparation are essential.

Get Properly Trained

Divers should receive appropriate training, follow current Brownie’s instructions and stay within the limits of their training, experience and equipment.

Every diver should remain prepared to make an emergency ascent.

Consider Independent Backup Air

For dives beyond a depth at which a diver is personally comfortable making a controlled free-swimming ascent, many experienced divers carry an independent emergency breathing source.

Spare Air kits can be selected in the Safety Package or purchased individually.
