BIAS means Brownie’s Integrated Air System. The BIAS Tankless Dive Module gives trained divers an easy way to spend more time below the surface, with breathing air supplied from equipment installed aboard the boat.
It fills the space between snorkeling and traditional tank diving: more freedom to explore underwater, with no cylinders to fill, carry or store. The hose can deploy from the side or stern—wherever it makes the most sense for your boat.

The BIAS air module feeds the accumulator, then the common dive hose runs to the water through either a basic thru-hull outlet or the optional E‑Reel and stainless-steel hawse.

Choose how the dive hose reaches the water
Every BIAS needs one hose-access option.
Place the outlet on the side or stern of the boat. Choose the basic thru-hull outlet, or upgrade to the push-button E‑Reel.

Choose this low-profile connection if you are not adding the E‑Reel. Snap the common downline into the outlet when it is time to dive, then disconnect and store the hose afterward.

Level-winding E‑Reel
Upgrade to push-button hose deployment and retrieval. The E‑Reel stores the common downline behind the scenes and includes the polished stainless-steel hawse fitting shown here.

Simple rule: select the basic thru-hull outlet if you do not add the E‑Reel. The E‑Reel already includes its own stainless-steel hawse outlet.
Fresh-air intake
First, check the air where the BIAS module will live.
The compressor must draw clean breathing air. Whether you need a remote fresh-air intake depends on the installation location.
Clean breathing air at the module?
No remote intake is needed. The compressor can draw air at its installed location.
Air is enclosed, questionable or not clean?
Add a remote intake that draws from a clean source elsewhere on the boat or from an air-conditioned cabin.

What does BIAS stand for?

What is tankless diving?
Instead of carrying a scuba cylinder, divers receive breathing air through a hose from a compressor at the surface. With BIAS, that compressor system is integrated aboard the boat.
How many people can dive with BIAS?
The current BIAS Tankless Dive Module is designed for two to three divers to a maximum depth of 33 feet.
Does the system include batteries?
A dedicated Brownie’s battery module is optional. The core module may also be configured around a suitable 24V battery source. Brownie’s will help determine the right arrangement for your vessel.
Can BIAS be added to an existing boat?
Yes. BIAS can be installed during a refit or added to a new boat. Tell Brownie’s about your vessel and we’ll help you identify the right package.
Where does the equipment go?
The main BIAS equipment is installed in suitable onboard storage, with the dive hose available from a clean connection near the water.
Do I choose the thru-hull outlet or the E‑Reel?
Choose one. If you do not add the E‑Reel, you need the basic thru-hull outlet for connecting the common downline. The optional $3,000 E‑Reel includes its own stainless-steel hawse fitting and stores the common downline aboard.
Do I need a remote fresh-air intake?
Not always. If the BIAS module’s installation location has clean breathing air, no remote intake is needed. If it does not, select a remote intake that draws from a clean source elsewhere on the boat.
How is BIAS different from Sea LiOn?
BIAS is installed aboard your boat and stays there. Sea LiOn is a portable floating system that you place in the water for the dive. Both provide tankless, surface-supplied breathing air.
